Why most free VPNs are a bad idea

With typical "free" VPNs:

  • ✗ They sell your browsing data to advertisers — that's how they make money
  • ✗ Speed is throttled to push you toward a paid plan
  • ✗ Data limits are tiny: 200MB–500MB per day
  • ✗ Encryption is often weak or poorly implemented

With AdGuard VPN free plan:

  • ✓ Zero data selling — funded by paid subscribers, not your privacy
  • ✓ 3GB/month — enough for browsing, WhatsApp, light streaming
  • ✓ Same AES-256 encryption as the paid plan
  • ✓ No speed throttling

❓ FAQ

Is AdGuard VPN actually free — no hidden costs?
Yes. The free plan is free forever: 3GB/month, no credit card, no expiry. We're upfront that it's funded by paid subscribers. No data selling, ever.
Why are most "unlimited free VPNs" dangerous?
If a VPN is free and unlimited, they make money somehow — usually by logging and selling your browsing data to advertisers. AdGuard's free plan is limited (3GB) so paid users fund it, not your data.
What happens when my 3GB runs out?
The VPN pauses for the rest of the month. You can upgrade to a paid plan anytime for unlimited data — from €2.69/month on the 2-year plan.
Do I need technical skills to set it up?
No. Install the app → create a free account with your email → tap Connect. Done.
